The little drone Drony was sent to the island of Crete on a routine mapping mission, but instead of olive groves, it discovers an ancient laboratory where Daedalus and Icarus, his only son, are building wings to escape.
Drony, driven by code and precision, documents Daedalus's clear warnings to his son not to fly too high towards the sun or too low to the sea. On the morning of the takeoff, Dronie expresses amazement at the "sheer audacity" of a man flying without an engine.
Despite the warnings, Icarus moves away from his father, climbing higher and higher, "almost touching the sun." Drony tries to send computerized warnings, but they are not understood. The wax begins to melt, the wings fall apart, and the boy who was free for a moment plunges into the sea.
The video concludes with Drony's reflection on what he calls "the price of the uncalculated dream." Drony concludes that while he himself would never fall, being driven by caution, he recognizes that without those uncalculated dreamers – he himself would never have been created.
